Boynton Beach Mall Celebrates Earth Day with Tree Planting and Kids Event

Families invited to participate in the KidX Earth Day Celebration on April 24

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (APRIL 7, 2021) – Boynton Beach Mall will plant a tree outside the east main entrance near the food court on Thursday, April 22 in partnership with BrightView Landscaping to celebrate Earth Day. The tree will be dedicated to Boynton Beach’s essential employees who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic.

On Saturday, April 24 from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Boynton Beach Mall will host a KidX Earth Day Celebration crafting event. The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium will be sharing their Pollinating Plants and Flower Dissection lab where kids will learn the best ways to grow flowers and plants by conducting a seed bomb experiment. Participants are invited to stop at the Boynton Beach Mall table to pick up a free goody bag of Earth Day crafts while supplies last. Parents are encouraged to register their children for the KidX Club before the event to avoid filling out an application on paper. Parents can register HERE.

“As a gathering place for the community, we are committed to improving the lives of our colleagues, guests and the environment,” said Edward Boylan, General Manager at Boynton Beach Mall. “We are always working to find new ways to manage our carbon footprint and identify environmentally-friendly alternatives that reduce waste, maximize energy efficiency and improve recycling efforts.”

Boynton Beach Mall will also share “Green Behind the Sce

nes” details on social media to highlight the sustainability initiatives that are an essential part of daily operations. Features such as eco-friendly restroom features like air dryers and water-saving fixtures to LED lightbulbs in common areas, demonstrate Boynton Beach Mall’s ongoing commitment to enhancing sustainability.

In addition to planting a tree this Earth Day, Washington Prime Group, Boynton Beach Mall’s parent company, has partnered with the parent company of our preferred print vendor ARC® and the environmental non-profit One Tree Planted to participate in the Print & Plant program for tree reforestation. While printing is essential to our business, WPG is committed to working through ARC and One Tree Planted to replace the trees needed to make our paper. Through WPG’s participation in this initiative, ARC estimates it will plant 1,200 trees in 2021 alone.

Boynton Beach Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. All Earth Day events will follow Boynton Beach Mall’s COVID-19 safety protocols, including rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices.

In addition, the Code of Conduct, which is posted at the Town Center and available online, includes the following guidelines:

  • Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover in accordance with state and local guidelines
  • Do not gather in groups
  • Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19

Celebrated every year since 1970, Earth Day is considered to be the planet’s largest civic event. Boynton Beach Mall is proud to demonstrate its commitment to the community and sustainability through these Earth Day celebrations.
